I really dont know tbh, I only recently heard about the 2 types on another thread. Surely a sensor is a sensor but some of the experts on this forum may be able to advise

Still trying to instil some confidence surrounding compatibility, what about the talk of new generation TPMS, would TPMS from (for example) a 2014 F30 work on a 2017 F30?

The TPMS on the ebay page is a VDO sensor used for cars with build date after 2014/3. Before that used to be the HUF sensors. Notice the difference with the beveled edges around the valve.

Yes they did. Mine does. So do a lot of them in the US. Also the f31s here. I am not sure about how it is across the pond.
