245/35 19 front tyres?

Has anyone fitted this size to the standard M Sport front wheels? I'm interested to know if there's any issues with them at all.

Reason I'm asking is because there's bugger all non run flats available in 225/40 except for Michelins which are £200 each! Can get Goodyear F1 Assymetric 3's in 245/35 for £133 each.

Are you Xdrive?
If RWD then you're speedometer will be off by 3mph but that's about it. If you're Xdrive then you can F up a lot by messing up the percentage between your rolling diameter.

Assuming you have 19" wheels it would have less than 1mph difference at 60mph and is a 'recommended' tyre size replacement. See these screen shot pages from a free Andoid App from the Play Store.

Yep only 1% difference in the sidewall to the rear tyres, and as the rears wear much quicker that difference will reduce.

Just wondering if the tyres will sit right on the wheel and if they'll adversely affect handling/steering?

Blackcircles do 225/40/19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports for £215 fitted which is a good enough price for those tyres. Also loads more makes available, not just Michelins.

Get your wallet out you cheapskate.

Crazy money for tyres, my MPSS & PS4 were £160 each and I thought that was a lot!

If I did low mileage it wouldn't be so bad, but I go through a set of rear tyres in way less than a year!!

If you look at the rim width in that chart it shows what size you need. You would then need to see if your rims were big enough for the 245 tyre.

Are they still this price - need to get a set for my rears?

No, Michelins prices shot up after Brexit! Goodyear & Dunlop prices are seemingly unaffected.

I can pay cash for them - it is worth getting the 4s version? I have a set of Pilot Cups on the front great tyres but haven't lasted very long !!!

Definitely 4S version, similar price but are meant to have improved wear rates than the 4.

Maybe it would reduce understeer and give better balance

And improve braking, and improve wheel kerb protection.

Steering may be a bit heavier with a wider front tyre.

Why would there be a need to keep the staggered?

I thought xDrive has a very small tolerance regarding front and rear tyre circumferences ?

Circumference yes, but width makes no difference.

So the circumference would be within 1% of OEM ?
