Extended maintenance/warranty?

Proud owner of an Estoril Blue 335i Msport bought in March 2016 (CPO @ 13K mi). I'm at 41k mi now and considering extending my maintenance coverage beyond the current 50k mile limit. I have two options:

1 yr/25k for a total of 75k mi coverage for $1000

2 yr/50k for a total of 100k mi coverage for $2000

Service manager told me brakes, rotors, and spark plugs will be included in this extension so those will be covered items. Now, this is just maintenance coverage and not a warranty against defects or part breakdowns. The warranty plans are pretty expensive. My questions are as follows:

1. Is this a good value considering brakes per axle can cost around $800 and all 4 of mine will be due for changing at 60k mi?

2. Can I get same quality workmanship at Indy shops as far as maintenance is considered?

3. Should I skip and save money for if/when things not related to maintenance go wrong?

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

I skipped the maint because i do it myself so maybe someone else will chime in on that piece. Im confused by your comment on warranty? If this is a cpo than aren't you covered for 2 additional years up to 100k?

It might be CPO elite, but that would still be to 75k miles, not 50. I believe OP is talking about maintenance, so that is not included with CPO.

First thing to consider is that the length of plans is whichever comes first. So even though it technically extends you 25k miles, if 1 year comes first then the plan will be over after 1 year.

I have the maintenance plan due to the pads and rotors, and that is the only reason I did it. So far all I've gotten replaced are front pads/rotors and one oil change. For me, the intervals for service such as 12k for oil and 2 years brakes, nothing on transmission, and I believe nothing on cooling means the won't really cover what I want because that is far too long for those components.

I would say save your money, do the work yourself, and don't buy OEM parts, especially brakes as their pads aren't that great and throw dust EVERYWHERE. I change my oil about every 6k, brake fluid every year, trans fluid every 40k or so, and cooling every 2years which means none of that would be covered under my maintenance plan. I did benefit from the brakes being replaced free but honestly I could have gotten cheaper and better pads and saved money in the end.
