Arrow Every American who drives some appliance sedan & not a BMW should drive a 320i!!!

There I said it! Deal with it!

Now that for model year 2018 all 3ers will have LED headlights and will have a back up camera there is no longer any excuse. Every Camry driver, Accord driver, Sonota driver, Optima driver, Legacy driver, and any and all other sedan drivers should dump their lousy "get me from point A to point B mobiles" and get into a real driver's car and buy a BMW 320i. No more wasted money on all their inferior transportation appliances!!

Go BMW!! All the way!

Just don't try to race any of those Camry, Accord, Sonata, Legacy, Mazda drivers and embarrass the rest of us.

Just make sure it is a curvy road and you'll come out ahead. The brakes and suspension will make up for the hp.

I was looking at 2-series leases for my daughter a while back, and surprisingly at the time 320's were cheaper to lease. Must be due to higher residuals but I wish BMW could bring the price of the 2-series down so there was more daylight between the 230i and 320i.

Exactly. Got mine CPO, on the cheap, fairly optioned, threw on a tune. It's a good drive.

Somebody on the forum said a properly modded 320 may be the best bargin Sports Sedan on the market. It might have been me who said it but I tend to agree with that. Somewhere out there is a tuned 320 that will give my 340 a run for it's money off the line and probably lots of properly modded 320's will leave my xdrive in the dust on the twisty's. I learned young (and hard) that it's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Agree..but there's always the adage 'There's not replacement for displacement' as well. A 320 is a more balanced vehicle and absolutely nothing wrong with them but add an open stretch of road and it's buh bye 320.

I wanted a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, but my parents got me a 2017 BMW 320i for my 17th birthday instead. It's a good first car I guess. I drove an E46 325i when I had my driver's permit and when I complete one year with a driver's license. This car is so much better. All I'm saying is that the 320i is a great car for anyone starting to drive. It's not too aggressive, but it's good for a young driver. In August, I will be 18, and the car will be 1 years old. I have enjoyed every single drive in this car besides the fact that it has literally murdered my back. But I'll live.

-And there's your review of the 2017 320i by a 17 year old lol.

"Its a good first car I guess".. Haha, awesome.

I think my first car was a $1500 1972 VW Bug... Then I got a Toyota pickup that was like $2000. My parents were solidly middle class, we were comfortable. They would have never dreamed of getting me a $32000 car for my first car. Either your parents are loaded or are horrendously irresponsible with money. Either way, enjoy your first car

If i remember correctly, BMW did away with the halogens for the MY 2017 cars because of the IIHS study.

nope, they still have them. Only thing they changed is they now come with LED DRL's, so they could catch up with the year 2014

If comparing 4 bangers, I'd take the 320 and just throw a stage 1 tune on it which would blow away the aforementioned cars. Can't tune any of those. Ran stage 1 on my 320 for 3 years and it transforms the car.

Having to do it all over again though, I would take a new Jetta 1.8T SEL over a 320i any day. Only thing the 320 has that the Jetta doesn't is RWD. The Jetta SEL comes infinitely better equipped than the 320i and still stickers for less. Stage 1 APR on that Jetta and its a fairly quick car and if I am not mistaken, takes 87. I would go a step further and get a 2017 Jetta SE with the 1.4TSI and the 5 speed manual. Ive driven that car and its a gokart. It also comes far more generously equipped than a 320i and the 320i is barely faster. APR makes a tune for the 1.4T and it puts it up to 1.8T territory. You can get a Jetta SE 1.4T with connectivity for $20000 brand new and it comes with heated seats, keyless entry, push button start, apple car play (wont find that in the 320), sunroof (a $1000 option in the 320), split fold rear seats ($500 option in the 320) etc

Its occurring to me that they may be leasing homeboy his 320 which equates to like $300 which isn't really a big deal. considering what Im paying for pre-school and daycare right now, If I could trade that for a $300 payment on a 320i, I would throw a party I would be so happy

You can get two GTI SEs for the same $$ as one 340i.
Yeah dude. Its a good question to ask yourself. The cars, again, are decent but I don't think they are that great to warrant the cost. There are so many good, inexpensive cars on today's market, you no longer need an expensive German car for performance, ride and tech. Granted, I think there is something special overall about BMW and I do love driving my car but I don't think its worth the money and my lease is probably less than people are leasing Camrys for. I actually know this for a fact because a guy at my work leases a depressing Chevy Cruz for $250...

Again, they are beyond a dime a dozen here. Everyone has a BMW. Its like, big deal? Means almost nothing. Means you have the credit and income to make a $3-450 monthly lease. If you really look at it, if that isn't pissing money away, I don't know what is. We'll see. If I hadn't had gotten such a good deal on this car and if it weren't a pain in the ass to have someone assume the lease, I would bail tomorrow and divert an extra $200 a month into my emergency fund or something.

I drove my friend's 2016 340i about 6 months back, his has a 6 speed manual. It was nice but jesus I was underwhelmed. That car is lauded as this amazing car and really, I thought it was lackluster overall, considering the price tag. Again, its fine, its a nice car to drive, its a good car, but $55000?? Completely absurd.
