F30 335i Charge Pipe Blown

Hey guys, I currently own a BMW 335i with 48k miles. As far as modifications go, the only things that have been done is a JB4 (stage 2) and an AWE exhaust. The car doesn't have a downpipe yet, therefore, I was only running map 5 (auto-tuning) and map 1 on certain occasions. I've owned the jb4 for about 2-3 months now and I read about how the stock n55 charge pipes tend to blow under high boost. I was running about 12.5 psi of boost under map 1 and when I floored it on the way home, I heard a loud clunking/cracking noise. I initially thought something went wrong with my transmission, because, when I went into 2nd gear (it's a manual transmission) I would give it some gas but the car would barely even accelerate. However, there was a wheezing and airy noise coming from the engine so I knew the clutch wasn't slipping. I checked the chargepipe later and it had completely popped off the throttle body and a chunk of it was missing. I have been doing research into aftermarket chargepipes and was wondering whether any of you had experience/knowledge so that you could advise me on what option would be the best. I really don't want to pony up the cash for the ER charge pipe so anything else that's cheaper would be great!

It needs to be metal at the least so it won't blow in the future. And it would be preferable if they come from reputable brands.

Have you noticed even the slightest change in power? Also, how has it been holding up?

i have a brand new BMW stock CP for N55 for sale, cheapish. It'll blow/crack on you at some point of course, but i'll sell it 'cheap'.

Get an ER CP, do it up right like the rest of us did

aftermarket CP isn't going to give you more power directly.... it will just allow you to increase boost without the charge pipe breaking.

Rather than look for a cheap new one, I would personally look at the Members Classified to see if you can find a used one.

Just put in a VRSF... works like a charm. I think the finish is the only thing significantly different from the ER.

Don't go cheap on your car!?... Spend the money now and you'll save money and piece of mind later down the road.

Buy cheap and you'll buy twice.

As far as I have heard, if the charge pipe is metal it won't blow like the stock one.
