Engine bay wash with jb4

Hey guys I looked around but didn't find a definite answer.

Is it okay to wash the engine bay with jb4 installed? Do I have to use anything to cover it up or will it be okay to leave it as is. I know that everything is basically waterproof already.

Also I have the bms intake installed which I should probably cover with something right?

Thanks!

Okay I'll take note of that.

I'm taking my car to a Detailer and I'll let him know to cover the jb4

I park in an indoor garage at work. The problem is there are birds flying around inside the garage because it has open walls.

What ends up happening is my car gets bombarded by bird poop. So my car is getting a full detail today

i usually wrap intake/alternator/etc with aluminum foil then have at it. it's robust enough that a brush won't move it, and it's flashy enough that i won't forget to take it off before starting the car

Where did you mount your jb4? I've seen installs where it is under the plastic cowl near the firewall which will protect it from moisture. As for myself I don't wash my engine bay. Does BMW have official documentation on how to do this?

I kept my JB1 under the plastic cowl as noted in the install documentation and never had any issues. I also taped all the open ports and over the connections with a good, tight wrap of black tape.

As far as official BMW documentation for washing your engine bay, I've got no idea. I use the pressure washer at a local spray bay on regular basis to do this, and have for every car I've ever owned, and never had any issues. Don't hit connections or sensitive bits with high pressure. Who knows, I could be destroying the engine.
