Vibration/Rattle inside Cabin when on throttle
Hi All,
Picked up my new 2017 340i xDrive with M pkg 1&2 and love it but have a small issue with vibration /rattling heard inside the cabin, when on throttle hitting around 60-70 KM. If I ease off the gas it disappears. Its more noticable in sport mode. The noise feels like it on passenger side or center console. Any ideas where I can look at? Made appointment with dealer for next week but prefer to resolve it myself if I can FYI.. nothing in glovebox or center console .. took all the stuff out of the car to isolate ... thanks team.

Without hearing yours, I can't say for sure, but I think I've got the same thing going on w/my 2014 F32. Hit the gas, I hear it. Let off the gas, and it goes away. Would be interesting to see if anyone has any insight.

I will try and capture the noise but might be hard with phone microphone. If not when I take to dealer next week, hopefully they can figure it out.

My 2013 F30 had a similar issue that turned out to be the small aluminum strip that goes along the dash towards the passenger door. I removed it and re-installed it and it would still generate a small rattle/buzz. I removed it and placed small pieces of foam behind it and it stopped. A simple test of having a passenger push on it when it starts making noise to see if this is the culprit.
Good luck. |

Not to say that interior pieces don't rattle, but virtually every rattle in any of our BMWs has always been something that got dropped by me or a passenger.

Maybe I need her to drive and I push on where I can hear the rattling

Agreed... but this car is 2 days old and I noticed it very next day on my drive to work. My guess something loose or not aligned correctly...
