Does brake pad replacement service get recorded in vehicle service history?

I'm at roughly 73000 km with my 330d. Last time I went for regular service was around 62000 km, and at that time dealer looked at the brake pads and extended the service interval on the car as he said they were fine.

I drove 2500 kms on the autobahn last week and had a few strong braking almost-incidents. Anyways, on startup the car said that next service is due in 700 km (previously it would say 24000 or something like that). That was 200 km ago, just shortly before I came home. The car says the front pads need replacing. Drove maybe 10 km to work this morning, to have the morning startup say 70 km to service, then 40 km to service, then 10 km to service on my way home. Just now dropped to zero and got the big important warning to drive carefully and service front pads.

Now, I'm torn between OEM BMW pads or aftermarket (EBC Greenstuff), and torn between going to BMW dealer for the change or doing it at a general tire & brakes shop.

If I change the pads at BMW, is there any benefit in it going into the car's service history? I'm thinking, if it's visible there, it might look better on resale than just having an invoice from a random shop. But if it's not visible there, then there's no point in spending more.

Also, EBC Greenstuff or generic pads? I might slightly track the car, a tourist lap or two a year on the Nordschleife, and some general spirited driving - but never had an issue with BMW OEM pads that were on the car.

I think you can request them to add it even if not SOP. I discovered, much to my annoyance, that my local tire shop was putting service items on my last car every time I went in to have them switch from summer to winter tires.

Interesting, I was not aware this is possible outside of an actual BMW service shop?

I meant carfax. Although if done at BMW I'm sure you could have it show there too.
