Is this normal? Car is not turned on...

If I wiggle the wheel back and forth I hear a tapping noise in the system. Is this normal?

Just checked my 240 out. No clunk no tap. I tried it with the engine and all systems off. Is that how you are checking it? Also mine is rwd yours x drive. Might make a difference.

Did you find out anything?

Seems like it might be coming from the steering column....where it connects to the steering wheel....

the dealer actually took a video of a new 2er without xdrive and it made a very similar noise.... just the mechanics of the motor off.
