Picked up 340xi-track handling package

Folks, I did the unthinkable today- went for a new 2017 340ix mineral grey with the following packages:

M-Sport, Track Handling- Technology-Winter packages. In addition the car has the M performance tune/sound option MPPKS. Black Dakota leather with Alu trim. 19" rims, Black kidney grills, etc...I am sure I am forgetting something.

Pretty much every option that I wanted on an F30. I would have picked the manual transmission if it wasn't for my wife.

Now here's for the price: sticker was $64k and some change. Got price down to about $58k.
36 months lease- 10,000 miles per year.
Residual: about $40,000

I put down $1000 that covered acquisition fee, lease payment $699/month.

What do you guys think? Good deal or just just about right?

Sounds like you did fine. Someone will chirp up with how much better of a deal they got because of the great relationship they have with their father in law's second cousin who makes the coffee at the dealership, but you should probably just enjoy your car and not worry about it.

just went thru similar and can tell you your deal is good. Not crazy good but very good. Curious whether you were offered the Multiple security depos. option or if that is now officially gone?

Thanks guys for chiming in. No was not offered the multiple security deposits, nothing down. The $1000 I paid should include the first month payment. This is my 3rd BMW lease, probably why they didn't ask for security deposits.

quite funny. Will start looking at some minor cosmetic mods. Would love to get a front splitter/lip, good ones pricing at least $400.

Without knowing any details like actual residual value, money factor or anything else, typically 1% of MSRP is in the ball park of being a good deal which in this case is like $600 and change per month, plus tax, so I suppose $699 isn't bad. Only a grand drive-off isn't bad, nice to keep as much money in your pocket on the front end of a lease as possible but they likely rolled something into the deal since you only did a grand up front.

Love the options! Still new to this car but what does this track package entail?

You should be able to negotiate at least 12% off MSRP. Dealer has about $1,500 hidden profit in your sales price and potentially more depending on the money factor.

The multiple security deposit option was not simply to assure BMW that you wouldn't disappear off the face of the earth with their car. The program allowed you to give BMW as many as 7 deposits (usually each in the 5-700 dollar range for an F30) to buy down your money factor - ie pay less interest on the money financed - and then have that money returned at lease end. Essentially getting a lower lease rate for free (yes some will say you could have saved that $4k and made some interest - but lately that's not a lot of money) So yes more money out of your pocket up front but less interest and a payoff at lease end. Most people thought it was very worthwhile. The program ended last month from what I understand.

MSRP is $64,850 on this car, so should be right on the money if we go with the 1% of MSRP month lease payment. The grand that I put down included first month payment, also they are paying off the last two months of my current 2014 335ix lease + ship over the car from PA to WI.

I have no doubt they are making $4- $5 grand at least on this deal. It was the last day the last hour of the month. I should have pushed for more concessions.

The pull ahead program is paid for by bmwfs so it's zero out of pocket and no skin off the dealers nose to do that.

They did do a dealer trade so at least that is something...it's probably a port swap though unless it was physically on the other dealers lot - to get the spec you want you've gotta be willing to do a less sweet deal as there hidden transaction costs there that you can't control.

You rolled in the drive offs too it seems, only paying acq and first month up front so that isn't ideal (you're paying interest on all the other fees)

I'd say there's money on the table but as long as you are happy that's the main thing

Yes your 2ish % difference in discount is what he missed out on doing the dealer trade, and the MSDs are a chunky bit off the payment too. I believe there was also likely to be better lease incentive support available when you did your deal too to get you to zero down. I'm thinking OP didn't have any fleet discount either. His MSRP was higher and therefore that'll add a chunk of he difference between the deals.

After we factor in the worse residuals and higher money factor the OP is probably $30 maybe $40 off where he could have been given his likely deal terms.
