Video: DIY Lowering Spring Install (and front camber plate)

I've started putting together videos of how to do some mods on the M2, and finally got around to finalizing this spring install video. Thanks to recycledAlva for letting me work on his car and film the project.

Some things to note: I make these videos using regular hand tools, since not everyone has access to an air compressor. I also used the E92 M3 bolt torque specs. To install a camber plate, follow the directions to drop and reinstall the suspension, except replace the top-hat w/ your new camber plate. Use the torque specs recommended by the camber plate manufacturer.

This video is to be used as a guide only. Always consult a reference manual before doing any work on your vehicle. Always secure vehicle w/ jack stands and wheel chocks when working under your vehicle.

Thanks so much for the video--exactly what I needed! I just wanted to verify there was nothing unique to doing the job on a M2. Great video--thank you for taking the time to send the link. Be Well

Has anyone kept top hat of front strut installed to vehicle. Just unbolt center strut bolt from top and slowly lower control arm freeing spring with jack. Then insert new lower spring and raise to tighten center strut bolt again with jack ..

Nice work man, wish I had the ability to do a video to go along with the coilover DIY I posted a while back (included all the M2 torque specs in that one). Only thing I might add is the "indexing" of the bushings. Video is super well done though!

On the rear, if you remove the bolts at the the other end of the wishbone, you do not have to reindex or mess with your camber.

Yes, although I did it when fitting the MPS. Remember to disconnect the roll bar link and headlight height control sensor.
