Parting out my E90...Great sounding speakers, in excellent condition. I installed them about a year ago and the sound is miles ahead of the stock system. I had it paired with the Bimmertech PP82DSP and would highly recommend the setup.

These speaker are a perfect fit for the E9x cars. Everything you need is included (i.e. mounting brackets, crossovers). The specs can be found here:

I paid $900 for these originally and they are in excellent condition.

The speakers all fit in the factory positions. The only complication for you is that you don't have tweeters so you would either have to get the speaker grills for the hifi model to make it look stock, or drill the plastic where the tweeters would go. This video shows how to do that at the 2 minute mark:

As far as wiring etc. it is pretty much plug and play. You take the wire going into the original speaker, connect it into the cross over which comes with this kit, then the new mid range speaker and tweeter connect to that cross over.

Will these sound ok on the stock head unit amplification or is an amp needed?

They'll definitely sound a lot better than the stock speakers with the stock amp, but the real issue with the stock HiFi system is the EQ, so changing out the amp and properly calibrating it will probably have a much greater impact than simply changing out the speakers.

These speakers will have a much cleaner sound than the stock, which always sounded muddy to me. Vocals are crystal clear with the jehnerts and the bass stronger and tighter.

These speakers are so worth the upgrade when considering you are getting 6 plugnplay speakers. Insane deal, plus when paired with an amp/dsp the audio is a significant upgrade over stock. When I pulled my system(these Jehnerts) out I couldn't even turn the radio on because it sounded like my head was buried in swamp. If you are on the fence pull the trigger before you lose these as you cannot find this set anywhere unless you buy new for close to a grand.
