Press start button unintentionally when driving
Anyone know what would happen?
Just watched a random video with an American guy in a Ford and when he pressed the start button at less than 5mph then the car shut off, he then tried it at approx 50mph and the car didn't shut off, he then held the button at the same speed for 3 seconds and the ignition turns off and he brings the car to a safe stop. Bearing in mind that the start/stop button is directly above the start button on our cars (and could be easily pressed accidentally) what happens on the F30? Anyone know? (By the way, please don't try this just to get the answer)! |

Press it once and it does nothing. Press it twice quickly or press and hold and the engine will stop. This happens at any speed.

My theory was that someone at BMW would have thought to write a bit of code to stop it going into park while driving along as there would be at least one idiot to give it a go Edit - beaten to it. |
