Went to AutoClub speed for with an HDPE and on my 3rd session out I got a "drivetrain - service request" warning and the car went into a limp mode. Came off and restated the car and it came back in as soon as I went WOT. Any idea what this is and why this is happening?
I have the fabspeed sportcat and a dinan sport tuner It happened even when in stock mode and not even at full tilt on my last session

I can't speak from experience yet - my first HPDE with the M2 is tomorrow - however from what I've read here, a few possibilities:
1. Fuel being cut off when the tank gets to around 1/4 due to design of the tank. Easy to check. 2. Possibly coolant temp too high. There is no gauge so hard to say unless you have a way of measuring it. Once it gets past a certain threshold, it can throw the drivetrain malfunction. 3. Something unrelated with your car. Wish I could be helpful, but truly that message can be thrown due to a variety of engine fault codes, so without reading the codes from your car's OBDII port, it's impossible to say any one thing for certain. Keep us posted on what it was once you pull the codes. Did it clear after you let the car cool off a while or did you end your day after this? |

Someone had an OBD reader at the track and there were no codes! I'll make sure to check the oil level.

I had this issue with low fuel. Also had the issue with full fuel and the sport tuner dialed up. I had to turn the tuner down to sport to not get the issue.

It happens any time I'm on track with under 1/3 tank. I literally can only get one session before needing to top off. It's almost enough to call the M2 untrackable.

Cosmos, you're pulling some G's with those tires, so I'm surprised. It's happened to me a cpl times below 1/4 tank.
Curious, are you running counter clockwise tracks? I've only been on clockwise. Thinking maybe it's a right side fuel pickup issue. |

Went to my shop and he used a BMW specific computer to look up the codes.
He found 4. The code that displayed was "DME 120208 - Charging Pressure control, plausibility Pressure too high". It recorded 4 times that day at the track. My first two sessions were at Race (4lbs) and no code. I was just under a half a tank when it first triggered. I filled up after lunch and it happened again in Sport (2lbs) with a full tank and then again 2 more times at Stock setting with a full tank. Is it possible that it triggered because i was at sea level vs. in Vegas (2000ft)?
