is it the 405s that won't fit or the 380s as well?
i'm concerned cos my stock oem 18s are meant for track use and will need the brembos to fit...

thanks.

405's will simply not fit, 380 do not fit on some wheels.

in that case, how would i go about checking if the 380s will fit the stock 18s?
has it got to do with the ET, as well as the wheel diameter?

thanks.

cheers

Well, I ordered my wheels from HRE and they make them to fit the brakes. I currently have 20" Breyton wheels and those do not seem to have any clearence issue either. The issue is with the ET on the 20" wheels and depending on the wheel design, the 19" diameter may be and issue to both. I just wrote my Brembo contact and asked, will see what he says about the 19" wheels and BBKīs.

From my Brembo contact:

"It will fit all 19" wheels simply from the fact that most wheels are based on the OEM specs and, as you know, it is confirmed that the BBK fits the OEM 19" wheels already."

Still, please check that you donīt have any issues when you order!

The template should be posted in the manuals and guides section too or a new stickied thread should be made concerning all of the people that ask "will BBK fit with these wheels?"

I saw them up close on OC Kid's M3 with the OEM 19s. They just barely fit those wheels. I mean barely.

Thanks, makes sense! So yes, the 380mm must just bearly fit the 19" and probably does not fit the stock 18".

You should be just fine with 19" wheels for the track IMO. I track mine with 20" wheels and beat a number of E46 M3īs, so 19" should be just fine.

gotta run MPSC or street tires with 19" wheels, not ideal, that's why hardly anyone uses 19" wheels for the track. Toyo is starting to make R888 in 19" but in very limited sizes and availability.
Get 18" and you have your pick of race and track tires including Hoosiers, if your that serious about trackwork, if not then sure, why not 19" or 20" for the occasional track day, you'll just be a bit slower.

at this point, i do want to fit the brembo 380mm 6pot front and 4pot rear, but that would render my 18"s OEM wheels (originally intended for track use), 70% stock PS2 tires, brand-new unused PS Cups redundant...

furthermore, by running 19"s for track would mean getting my 5th set of wheels (don't ask... ha ha) and more expensive track tires - more than USD$300 increase for every set of tires. (that's $300 more every two months by my calculations of the frequency of my track sessions)

affordability issues aside, i just don't know...

does brembo have anything that can fit the OEM 18"s and are an improvement over the stock brakes? (of course they do, but any specific recommendations?)

cheers

Ufff!! Tough call. Seems like you really do track a lot, so I do think you may need better brakes. I suggest looking for Brembos that would fit the stock 18”, you know, 355mm rotor with 6 pot piston up front and that ought to do the truck. Donīt really think there would be a huge difference between the 355mm and 380mm rotors as long as the caliper is the same for both and would be an improvement over stock brakes.
