Rebellion Auto iTuning Plug and Play

Just ran across this on Instagram and thought I would share...

https://instagram.com/p/BTsKmZKFEjK/

They are claiming 90hp/84tq on a piggyback.
Went to their website and it is not listed.

"BMW440i +90bhp +84ftlbs!! After a whole day on the dyno and various back to back testing the final results are in for the BMW 440i. The car has no other modifications other than our plug and play iTuning module. The car was dynoed both stock and tuned without removing or unstrapping. Stock the car made a healthy 328bhp Initially when tuned the car was maxing at around the 400bhp mark but this was owing to intake temps after quite a few attempts to get the car to settle on the dyno and the fact the stock runs had already been carried out. The car was allowed to cool for approx 40mins and then 4 back to back pulls were carried out without any changes to settings and we hit 420+ consecutively. Overall gains of around 90bhp and 84ftlbs were achieved from the B58 lump.

The car was then test driven by customer on the road and he will provide more feedback over coming week for all driving conditions."

I wonder if that baseline 328bhp number was measured on a dyno. Most of the b58 powered cars make 320-330whp totally stock. So in reality it may not be a 90+bhp difference, but rather a 50-60 bhp increase. I think some tuners have been known to take the underrated hp number provided by BMW and use that as a baseline rather than the true power, so it makes the gains look inflated.

Well someone's got to do it. That's what these guys are for, they turn it up so I don't have to.

It is my understanding that the B58 motor has a hard fuel limit programed in which prevents power/boost above a certain threshold. Piggybacks won't be able to get around this limit. Thus they will all produce about the same max power. The only way to get around the fuel limit is an ECU tune.
