Shite-ify

Anyone else think Spotify integration is shit? When it works it's great, but on my car that doesn't seem to be very often! In fact "apps" in general couldn't be any more Shit!

When it does work, if I get out of the car for Any reason, it won't work when I get back. It loses the Spotify icon fro the media menu and won't reconnect more often than not. If I go into manage devices, "apps" is constantly unchecking itself and if I try to recheck the box, it just says it's trying (forever). Other times it will just work without prompting.

Seriously getting on my tits now, Spotify is a premium service that costs money and just doesn't consistently work. BMW Are supposed to be forward thinking innovators but can't even play frigging music on their latest version of idrive (5.0)

I'm getting Deezer! And an Audi!

Yea it is bad, but not bad enough to subject yourself to owning an Audi!

Apple Music works excellent. Never really had an issue with it.

I didn't like it as much as Spotify overall but given the integration actually works then it wins for me

It is very hit and miss, but usually it's when Spotify update their app that things tend to go wrong.

Deezer is just as bad - was tempted to try Spotify but won't bother now thanks to this thread!

work fine for me but wasn't allow to use idrive to look for songs which was bad, mine had to connect to a cable. I did have issues dropping connection over bluetooth and i had a new headunit but same problem existed. i decided it might be my phone so i did a complete restore and software update and never had problem after with bluetooth disconnecting.

Might have to pop and get a firmware update. See if that fixes anything

I use Spotify everyday and every time I'm in the car! No issues at all with anything there... absolutely in love with how easy it is to navigated playlists and songs from iDrive.

worth trying a different phone to rule out if it's not your phone or cable if you use wire connection.

Recently updated Spotify, now when I connect to the phone via bluetooth, automatically plays it no problem. Also the music info as well as album art show up fine. Never did that before so crossing fingers....

I have issues on my new F36 LCI and new X3... I've found you have to start Spotify on the phone first, then press the media button for it to play... sometimes it plays straight away without pressing the media button but you can't see or change the tracks on HUD until you've pressed it. I've also found that it has intermittent big lags when changing tracks, like 15 secs every track!

I can do this (when it's working). Unfortunately it often isn't working!
