Factory tint is generally 70%, not sure if that's the same in UK or not

I was having a smoke in the car park the other day at work and for some peculiar reason was reading the print on the glass (pilkington etc.) I am pretty sure it either had something about 30% or 70% printed on it. I am assuming the 30% was referring to how much light it lets in. |

Yes it will be 70% unless you have bugger all tints then 30 would sound about right. |

My dads f32 and my f36 were parked together the other day and we both noticed that my rear tints were darker than his! Any Ideas why this would be? They are built within months of each other too.

Checked my Tourer, the fronts have 70% printed on them and the rear screen has 28% printed on it.
So 30 for the front and 72 for rear. The reason for asking was that VW do 65% and 90% which in BMW speak (printed on glass) would be 35% and 10% respectively. Just not confusing enough really. |
