Front Splitter Fitting Advice
Fitting an original front splitter to my F30, all seems fairly straightforward but I'm a bit stuck at the last step of fixing the centre pillar. How exactly do you fit the adapter plate? Looking at the pictures on the instructions don't appear to match what I'm looking at on the car. Anyone who has fitted an original splitter able to help me please? Thanks.

Fit the adapter plate to the splitter first, remove the two rivets from both sides of the bumper, put splitter on, put the 4 rivets back in, screw the two self tapping screws through the centre pillar onto the bumper. Job done.

OK thanks, I fitted the adapter to the car then fitted the splitter all as per the BMW instructions, although I think the way you are saying to do it would in fact of been easier. It's the last bit that I'm struggling with, fitting the 2 screws into the centre pillar. BMW supply a small black piece of plastic with a hole in it and a couple of metal clips and 2 screws but I can't see how I'm supposed to get the black piece of plastic into place?

Think I'm missing the adaptor plate when I purchased mine 2nd hand,
Any idea if this will seriously matter and if so where could I source one. I'm a cnc milling engineer so wouldn't be to hard to knock one up out of aluminium if that's the case but unsure on what it looks like |

I got it fitted easily enough in the end once you remove the 4 plastic rivets and prise it open it's clearer what you need to do. The plate is just a rectangular piece of plastic with a hole at one end where the clip on nut to fit onto so the torx screw takes a good hold. I'm sure you could use something else but make sure the centre piece it well supported.
