Question 340i Auto Manual Sport+ = Rev Limiter?

Is it me or is it really, really easy to unintentionally hit the rev limiter when using Sport+ in manual mode?

Every time I give it some beans, I flip the paddle to change up near the red line but it always seems to hit the rev limiter before it changes up.

I am always mechanically sympathetic but this happens every time!

Is this normal, can any damage be done?

I do like the ZF8HP50 (apart from the weird whining noise) but I still miss a proper manual.

Cheers, Minty.

Basically whining in 2nd, 4th and 5th and reverse. Sometimes it is louder than others

So you claim to drive with mechanical sympathy, but flip the paddle 'near the red line'.
Hmmm ...

No problem with doing that. In sport auto the B58 goes well into the red before it changes. If BMW are happy to let it do that in auto, no reason not to do it in manual.
