X3 Key Fob Logo replacement

Hi All,

New to the forum, please can you help me. I am looking to replace the logo on my key fob. I have spoken to BMW direct and they advised on buying a new key costing approximately £300-£400. I am not willing to spend that much.

After reading:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1204096

on this forum I attempted to change the logo myself by buying these from ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-BM...YAAOSwpDdU7a0S

however the 11mm logo does not fit my fob. The logo is without the plastic attached and just came off with some prodding with my finger nail, its just the aluminium logo glued to the fob. I am guessing I need a 9mm or 10mm logo but cannot find these anywhere online.

Image of fob attached.

Any help or advise is appreciated.

Thanks.

What about just using your 2nd key instead? Or does that get used by someone else?

The second key is used by my wife, I just want the key to look nice cosmetically.

Any ideas?

Looks like a standard key I'm surprised the 11m ones don't fit.
Can't seem to find any others that are smaller.....sounds like a call the the parts dept

There is no way a blank key is £300 - £400 quid.

Should be no more than £175.

This one from a US supplier is like £60.

If you can't find a badge that fits get a blank key, gut the original key and transfer contents into blank key.

Why not just purchase a rubber BMW case for a fiver from flea bay?

Think I saw one on Amazon. Purchased a silicone case last month though and covers / protects my worn key.

Just bought this:

So hopefully will be able to take the logo off and glue/attach to my fob, will let you know how I get on once it arrives.

Cheers all.
