Auto Stop-Start not engaging after coding

I'm not sure if it's because of my coding, but lately weather has warmed up (well above 10C, more like 15-16C), but I still notice ASS not kicking in. In the EfficientDynamics screen, I still see the A icon slashed whenever I come to a complete stop, engine completely warmed up.

The only thing lately I've done lately was coded my car to roll windows up with fob and unlock all the doors after ignition off. I made sure I only coded FDL and everything works.

Another thing weird I notice is, when air con is completely off, ED Info seems to say I'm still blowing air con (see image).

Last time ASS "stopped" working was after I temporarily stored it for about a month or two. After a bit of driving it started shutting engine again.

Just out of curiosity, I also checked engine oil level (it did have a minor leak issue that was fixed), and that's right at max.

Car is a 2012 328i with an N20. Hope I didn't break anything?

EDIT: I'm also suspecting my 5-year old battery and dashcam setup now. It's set up for 6 hour recording after ignition off, maybe enough to not trigger ASS but not enough to cause a drain message.

Most likely your battery is the issue. You can get a good battery tender that reconditions the battery. See if that helps

Yeah, I asked somewhere else and was told same situation with another E90, no stop/start if not on tender. My car's going in storage soon so I might just leave the issue for now and see what happens. It'll be on an AGM charger.

PS: are you on OppositeLock?

I bought a NOCO charger when they were on sale at CT because I noticed my auto start stop wasn't kicking in - a couple of overnight charging sessions fixed her right up.

No, I'm not on OppositeLock.

Just a quick update, after charging it for several months, ASS returned and confirmed unrelated to the coding, all is well.

Good deal that was an EZ fix

But IMHO, nothing could be better than Auto Start Stop not working

I only thank the BMW gods that they have it so you can set it to default to OFF every time car is started

The ASS acronym is very suitable for this feature

"Wouldn't somebody think of the polar bears??!!" lol

I just don't like the idea that something that's supposed to work isn't, and it should be up to me to decide. And on that note... it's always default enabled on mine. Only my friend's F82 it remembers the last setting.

Maybe I'll do that coding next to change it to last memory... or code it always enabled on my friend. Muhuhahahaha.

Evil...but I love it! Even better if you could code heated seats to turn on with startup so he gets an unexpected hot seat all the time...that's really gonna make him loose it!!

i noticed my Auto stop start stopped working also... i did have it coded to have it disable on start up. but from what i still remember, it still worked if i pressed the button. However i stopped using it, and installed JB4 and recently noticed it stopped working, even with the Auto start stop enabled, not sure if JB4 is the cause.

This is more fun turning it on manually though, lol.
