This is not the one at BMW of Encinitas.
This will be available at MSRP for pickup on April 10th and is equipped with a manual transmission. The build sheet is as follows: |

I'm sort of new to the forum.
Is there a reason for a premium on the car? They already bumped the price with options and options just seem to be a high margin add on. |

Also, the performance edition helps you skip a long wait list if you are on one and get ahead of the line. And in this case, at MSRP. |

They're around sitting on some lots here in the northeast and priced at MSRP. The extra premium must have many prospective buyers balking. Other than the exclusivity factor, I can't justify buying one just to no longer have to wait on mine.
Here's an example near Burlington VT. Ignore the fact that they listed it as a base model. http://www.theautomasterbmw.com/new-...ry%2Findex.htm Build sheet; |

M2's been out for a year now and the willingness to pay 10k more for a white only car with a few more bits and bobs isn't going to be crazy high even for socal. It might be technically MSRP but none of these are a deal, it'll still sell within a few weeks I expect. They should have done this one in an exclusive color IMO and dropped the driver's package.

Plus this "Performance Edition" is just bullshit cooked up by BMWNA and dealers as a way to get you to buy all the BMW Performance trinkets by tying it to manual seats and pretending it's exclusive.
IMO, I would never buy one of these editions to avoid encouraging them to do more in the future. |
