I'm sure this is old--but question re ventilation...

In my '16 340 there is nearly zero air coming out of the left dash vent. Never experienced this on any car before. Is this what you find, or might something need looking in to? Thanks.

I know this is likely a silly question but did you check the little vertical air flow dial next to the vent to make sure it's in the open position and not set to restrict the air flow?

It's the dial on the right side of the vent below that I am talking about.

Hi, Yes, of course the vent wheel is open. Is this to say that your left vent blows strong?

Never had an issue with the left vent operation, last three BMW's including my '16 428 series.

My left vent blows just fine. One other thing that may be a dumb thought too but I will point it out just in case. The dual climate control allows for directing the air through the vents on the dash, up by the wind shield and down below separately on either side. Check to make sure the arrow on the climate control screen is pointing as it is in the picture below. Note that you can see both drivers side and passenger side. You can also set it to blow in multiple zones as shown in the second picture which will reduce the flow through the vents since the flow is divided between multiple zones. If you have it set correctly, then there may be an issue with the switch or motor inside that dash that opens the vents and directs the flow.

This picture shows both driver side and passenger side blowing through the dash vents.

This shows driver side blowing through the dash vents and the floor vents and passenger through dash vents only.

If I select the dash vents manually, it blows strong but in "auto" where I usually keep it, it's pretty weak. In auto, there's enough air from all over that it's not an issue that it barely blows.
