I don't mind so much the taut look of the front (though it looks like something Hyundai would do with their current design direction), but I can't stomach the rear passenger door - looks like it came off of a Mercedes CLA.
Hope it won't look like that. |

Yeah, horrible.
I'm hoping that the headlight design is nowhere near that. I know its a rendering but, I don't see the prominent "eyebrows" above the headlights so it almost looks like the L-shape direction Mercedes has taken with their more recent headlight designs , (yet still retaining BMW's sharper edges).

I like this quip: What Might Go Wrong: If BMW continues to dumb down the driving experience, the 3 will likely become the Toyota Camry of its segment—a strong seller that traded its soul for volume.

One more reason I'm ordering my 440 now and plan to keep it for quite some time as if the next generation looks anything like this car my next one could be my last before I change lines entirely.
I would think the thing behind the rear wheel could stick as it's in line with the new 5. Hideous. |

Buick Motor Works?
Seriously, magazines shouldn't be publishing college projects.

Someone needs to send the artist a link explaining what the Hofmeister kink is and why he shouldn't skip it in his BMW renders.

400hp for the M340i is fantastic and gives the current F80 a run for it's money. When the 500hp M3 comes out, I'll be in line for that one provided MB doesn't answer with a newly redesigned C63.

Honestly looking at these renders makes me think I should get the 340i in the current generation and not to wait for the next one.
Will it skip the manual transmission also? |

I don't see that as a bad thing really. I the Opel Insignia/Buick Regal is beautiful in the GS version. I know I will hear haters but I think it looks better than an M3. If the Opel Insignia Touring came to the US a long time ago maybe Americans would appreciate a good wagon instead of just the BMW wagon.
