You may want to hold off for now and read for of the latest posts on E90post because BMW with their latest software updates to program 29.2 are able to tell if you install a piggyback system by monitoring several different variables and can void your warranty. Everyone with piggybacks on their 335's are now squirming in their shoes waiting for a way around this. BMW has wised up unfortunately. I am glad I did not order the 335 now. There is a new tuner that appears to have a new way around this and his product is only $300 and sounds pretty good but I did not have a chance to read 30 pages of posts. |

I can't believe that so many people on this and other forums think BMW is so stupid that they couldn't tell if someone has been running with extra turbo boost. All one has to do is send ECU signals down two different paths and then compare them to see that somebody or something has been tampering with one of the signals. Pretty much the same process is used to determine if the odometer has been tampered with.
That's not to say that there is anything inherently wrong with the Vishnu system or Dinan's or anybody else's, just that it is dumb to assume BMW will honor your warranty if you do have any engine problems, even if those porblems have nothing to do with the extra boost. Example: X5s have had a lot of problems with the cyclone valve (an oil separator in the crankcase ventilation system) because it freezes in certain cold weather conditions and then fails, causing damage that can range from a few hundred dollars to a new engine. If that happened to you and you were running one of the boost enhancement systems, good luck trying to get the damage covered under warranty! |

Several post on clublexus.com about voided warranties. Lexus owners with 335's as well.
I imagine after a while folks forget about the mod and take theire car in for service and boom, by by warranty. Not sure it is worth it. A $300 part could cost you thousands.
