F30 OEM Front Splitter Issue

My F30 is 18 months old and the OEM front splitter was installed at the dealership prior to collection. Left mine unpainted and I've been noticing for a while now that the black coating (didn't think it was a coating!) is coming off. Mostly an issue with the near side upper section but also starting to be an issue on other side too.

Anyone else had this issue with OEM front splitter and any thoughts on my chances of a successful warranty claim?

That does not look like an oem splitter! It looks just like the dodgy batch of aftermarket ones that some people got from fast lane styling! Are you sure they didn't fit an aftermarket one and charge you for a genuine one?

Is it actually possible that a BMW dealership (Sytner in Leicester) would order in and install a non-genuine part?

From the evidence you've shown I would say yes! Absolutely shocking if they have!

Even my aftermarket one is black plastic all the way through!

Sytner at Tamworth took a look at it (I think every manager of every department took a look at it) and its going back in on Monday to be replaced under warranty.

They were confident that it was a genuine part and accepted that it shouldn't happen.

Thanks for all your replies on this one guys.

I imagine mine would still be alright if I'd had it painted but left it unpainted and it appears to be losing some kind of coating.

Not planning to paint the replacement and hoping it fairs better.
