Carbon boot spoiler Peeling

Anyone else having issues with their carbon boot spoiler starting peel or bubble? Mines an original one (i think as it was on the car when i bought it), but surprised that its starting to peel and bubble...!

Wondering whether I could get a body shop to colour code it?!?

If it's peeling and bubbling I doubt it's a genuine one!

i have the genuine BMW carbon boot spoiler and there is a tiny little section where the spoiler meets the metal of the boot i can see some white spots.

almost like the lacquer is coming away also, not sure whats caused it to be honest.

Strange, my aftermarket one looks perfect after 14 months and 27k miles!

Yep exactly the same here. Its peeling where the spoiler meets the body

Mines doing it too, started after about 12 months. Waters sits along the spoiler/boot line and eventually damages the lacquer.

It is only warranted for 2 years. Good luck getting a warranty job because your local dealer will get declined. I went straight to bmw customer support and they declined it too.

I told them not that it matters to them but after having several bmws, if that's the attitude they want to take I will not be buying another, in all honesty I won't be buying another bmw for a few reasons but this is one of them. Asked them to pass this message onto Europe.

Who knows bmw might be getting an import tariff whacked on them.

If it's genuine it'll not come off without damaging the paint so you'll need a boot lid respray too

Can you guys post some pics of your spoilers, I can easily tell if they are genuine as replica's are actually a different shape!

Genuine ones are glued on with Betalink.

Spolier

My boot spoiler is doing the same, peeling and tainting in sections along where it meets the boot lid. Dealer supplied and fit from new, cars done 7K!!! and only ever had top quality products used on it. Will be returning soon for warranty. My horn is also faulty...I've lost the 2 tone and down to a shite sounding single tone..embarrassing

I just had mine repaired during a service last week as I'd lost one of the two tones too, perhaps a more common problem.

Not sure how I can pos my a pic from my mobile. Once I'm back home - (working away ) I'll be sure to post mine up. My experience so far with the whole kit has been atrocious. Inside of black side skirts at front wheel arch peeling back to reveal the white car underneath, the boot spoiler, the terrible depth of clear coat on the front splitter. For a premium brand I expected more...
