Time for a good (waterless) detail
Finally it looks like spring is here, warm weather, relatively sunny and rain few and far between it was time to give the 330D some love!
As the car was not too dirty but rather had quite a few baked in water spots from the recent rain, I decided to give waterless washing a try. It came up beautifully and most importantly no new scratches on the paint! Also used the same solution to clean up the wheels and was impressed by how easily it dissolved the (admittedly sparse) brake dust. It wouldn't work on really contaminated wheels but I had used Bilt Hambers solution a couple of weeks back and the wheels were reasonably ok. Using the waterless solution as clay lube proceeded to clay down the car. I did notice a bit more residue than normal so the waterless wash did leave back a bit more dirt than a good old soap and water rinse down. Finally used my favourite Autoglym super resin polish to fill in any micro scratches and bring up the gloss to the paint. Topped it off with a layer of Autoglym extra gloss protection instead of my usual Collinite wax as the sun was quite strong this morning and did not fancy a deep scrub down to remove it. I have to say I love its shine. Its glossier than the wax and brings out a glassy shine to the paint. Finally windows done with autoglym glass polish and layered the sides and back with some Rain X to reduce water spots. Took a good 3-4 hours from start to finish, including about an hour of curing time for the sealant. Now lets hope it won't rain tonight!!! Products used:

I just can't get my head around waterless wash, soap and water for me everytime, looks good though.
It's therapeutic to have nothing else to do but spend as long as you want cleaning the car, well it is for me anyway |

I wouldn't use that waterless wash when the car gets to dirty, like in winter. It can only do so much! Optimum no rinse is supposedly better with more dirt as you are soaking the whole towel in a bucketful of the solution vs. just spraying on the panel as the meguiars.
For me during summer it will be waterless, but during winter back to carrying buckets and the pump sprayer |

Great job, well done. Now if you're free a week on Wednesday I've got a couple of cars that could do with similar treatment. Mates rates I suppose, I'm willing to pay national min wage plus a small, 50p, bonus if it's done to my satisfaction.
