electric seat conversion

BMW seems to make cars with really awkward manual seat controls compared to just about any other car Ive driven. My previous 3 series was a prime example of this and my better half hated driving it because she could not get comfortable. Im 11" taller than her and if I want to get a 235/240i then its got to have electric seats. I'd prefer to not pay for a brand new one (huge depreciation in the UK) and there are lots of 2nd hand /ex-demo ones at the dealers, but very few have electric seats.

So how practical is it to upgrade to electric seats from non-electric? Is it simply a case of removing the old seats and replacing with electric ones ? Is the wiring required already in place ?
