Random boot opening!

So I open the boot and close it, walk around and get in and as I start to put my belt in the boot fully opens and as I go to take my belt off closes its self again! Any ideas what that's all about?

Where was the key ?

Bet the answer is 'in my pocket'. In which case, the button has been pressed whilst in your pocket.

It wouldn't have self closed if I had pressed the open button. Also if it wasn't properly closed it would only go to the latch hence why I'm confused!

Oh I see, maybe some sort of safety override.

That's what I was thinking, I know you can code closure from the remote but a strange thing to happen out of the blue. Just starting to get a list together as the warrantee is out in may!

Happened to me when key was in pocket. Turned out there was some crud near the button so it was jammed down in a way. The slightest pressure would open the boot.

No, it doesn't need coding you just hold the button down. People who code it are just doing it so its a single press to close rather than holding the button.

This. If the button was still held the boot could have started to close again as well. Though, you need to keep the button held in until the boot closes. Otherwise it stops moving. A safety feature?

The key cases as pictured above help. But, don't stop the problem. An iPhone can Sind its way inside and press the button... I've had by boot open and pulled my key from my pocket to find the phone inside the case.

The bonus if a case is they come in different colours. So I've got blue and my wife has a red one. Useful for individual settings.

Cheers I had no idea you could close from the key as well! Must have been that.
