Anybody have a preference here. I've seen allot of people on this site who prefer zaino, but a guy at my office uses zymol & this guys car looks like liquid glass. Anyone ever use zymol?

I use zymol and I think it works great and leaves a great shine. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't seem to last as long as other polishes. Like you I'm curious to hear some comments on Zaino as well as Klasse.

I've used Zymol for over ten years on my black car and the paint looks almost like new. However I must confess that my car is in a garage at home and at work. Zymol contains one of the highest amounts of wax available in car waxes/polishes, which supposedly "feeds" the paint and keeps it looking good. It goes on like butter and wipes clean easily. I've heard a lot of good things about Zaino but I wonder if on the long run a wax is better for the paint?

I have used various wax regimens in the past, including Meguires, Mothers, and Klasse.

Overall, the Klasse lasts the longest. One excellent example was when I waxed my car in September and water was still beading on my car in May after a Boston winter!

Some say that with the nicer carnauba waxes, they get a deeper shine. But I have never seen a natural wax last for more than 2-3 months. These polymer waxes seem to last at least 6 (and in my experience with Klasse up to 9 months).

Thanks for the input. A black car looking great after 10 years? I think I'm going to give zymol a shot. I know the perils of keeping a black car looking good.

Read the Guru report it has a lot of good info. Zymol is a wax, Zaino is a polish. I started using Zymol and switched to Zaino, after using Zaino the first time I threw the Zymol in the trash. A co-worker has a Z-3 and uses Zymol, whenever he parks next to me the shine on my car is definitely better. He asks what I use but won't tell!

Just one more thing, the Zymol I'm using isn't the $10 type you find in the stores. I buy mine through a car dealership and it costs around $45. It contains between 33% to 37% carnauba by volume and are made specific for either light-colored cars, dark-colored cars, Saabs, Volvos, or Japanese cars.

Would someone mind posting a brief description of the differences between a Polish and a Wax? And objectively list the commonly known pro's and con's for each? Thanks,

I figured it was that, the $10 one at Auto Zone or the like I heard was made by Turtle Wax.

Zaino is probably ultimate in terms of look and durability, but it takes some time to apply it correctly. I use Klasse AIO & Klasse SG because I'm lazy.

Zaino is a polymer not a wax. Wax wears off and attracts dirt, Zaino is the opposite. I applied 4 coats of Zaino to my car 2 years ago, and without any more coats since then, my car still shines like glass, no kidding. I use all of Zaino's products like the car wash ans detail spray, all which help to keep that new car shine. My Zaino rep told me that the wash and spray have polish in it, which would explain how may car still looks new after all this time.

Question I have is which one (Zymol or Zaino) is best for new cars?

An older car would need a totally different product as the clear coat would have worn out a bit more and have more pollution in the paint, so you would use more of a paint cleaner and polish.

But with a new car, I would assume you wouldn't want to use a polish quite yet as there is really nothing to polish off coming straight off the dealers lot. You would essentialy polishing off the clear coat.

I've already applied a paint sealant to the new car. And also Meguire's gold class wax. However, I'm not that satisified and would like to take that wax off and start over again.

I have a Artic White E90, any suggestions which product would best for a light coloured car with brand new paint??

While Zaino is called a "polish" it does not remove anything. I think the more correct term is polymer sealant with extra optical enhancers (I may have read that on their site)
There is a surprising amount of "stuff" in/on your paint from the dealer. I watch those cars roll of the ships here in Port Hueneme, they are covered with some sort of protectant but are COVERED in salty spray. Then if they have to get on a rail car or even trucked for a distance, they do get the brake dust and rail dust all over them. I don't know how much time the dealerships spend to really clean the paint once it gets to the showroom.
Zaino really recommends (and I second) using a clay bar, even on a brand new car. Then you are more sure of your starting point to protect and beautify.
I too started with the Maguire's showroom polymer sealant, but am going to get the bottle of Dawn out on Saturdy and apply a couple of coats of Z2. My kit included the Z8, will have to see how shiny it gets. The Maguires left a nice, slippery finish, but the pictures of the Zaino (and this board) lead me to believe I could get a little better.

I am planning on sticking to a nice thick carnuba wax for my weekly washing and waxing, with a nice polish every once in a while but I cant decide weather I want to start off with a polish in the begining or if I should wait a while until the paint is a bit older/ cured... For waxes I really like P21s and I just ordered zymol's creme which is made for white/ light cars. The thing I dont understand about zaino is isnt the z6 and z8 just a detailer spray? And if that is so what do they use as a more conventional polish for lack of a better word?

Zaino does provide great reflection, but I don't really think that's what most of us are looking for. Personally I think the best look one would like to achieve would be the wet and deep look--which can only be achieved with Carnauba wax.

A great solution for you guys with zaino would be to top your zaino with a nice thick layer of carnauba, and not only will it be a mirror, but it will look WET and deep, just like this:

Very nice finish. Betting this isn't a daily driver.

If the car sits in the barn, I think carnuba is a good 'wetter'. But if it sits outside in the sun for 72 hrs, carnuba is gonzales...

Which Carnauba wax did you use? Zymol or Meguires?
