Finally got it, before the tax changes. New from the dealer and pre-detailing. Only a tank full of chip fat so far. Detailer book for Saturday so will post some pics after that. Carly doesn't support the FEM version yet so will have to wait or get the ENET cable out.

Can't touch it without greasy fingerprints everywhere at the moment lol

This manual handbrake is still taking some getting used to after the X3. If anyone sees me with glowing brake discs on the M1, please feel free to flag me down.

I'm the same, I've not had a manual handbrake for 10 years plus! It should be gone and another useful storage cubby added. I'm still getting used to not having enough space for my stuff.

I've driven a few cars with e handbrakes and I don't like them, especially on the F10 which I had to press 2 or 3 times to get it to actually disengage!

Plus how can you do handbrake turns in the snow with an e handbrake!?

There's no doubt about it the 4 GC is a fine looking car. If I didn't have dogs and bikes to carry around it would be my choice albeit petrol of course, but I can understand people picking the 35d. Enjoy.
More pics of the interior when you get chance.

You don't have to think about it on the X3 & X5 - the e-handbrake disengages itself as soon as you set off.

Take your point about the handbrake turns though

My last 5 or 6 cars have had electric handbrakes, VW, Audi and Jaguar, never had a problem turning them on or off. In fact, never had to turn them off. If you put the car in drive or reverse and touch the accelerator to set off they just disengage anyway.

I am way too old and my cars are worth way too much to be indulging in handbrake turns in the snow anymore. Plus I live in the Peak District and it hasn't even snowed here for all the 3 winters I had my quattro......

You don't need to use the manual handbrake at all in an auto, just put it in park

Interesting, I've never liked electric parking brakes on test drives, but I guess I would get used to them. BMW would need to introduce the Extended Storage Pack Plus for the extra cubby though and fleece us accordingly. Yes, still sore about the rip off that is the Extended Storage Pack minus 25% of its contents because of speccing lane departure warning

Crash-magnet new car looks great; the more GCs I see with those 704Ms, the more I think about getting a set in the future and keeping my 442Ms as a winter set.

I forgot about the handbrake when I drove out of the showroom presentation area.

The brakes squealed like a pig whilst the sales guy was outside pointing and jumping like someone possessed.

And I was wondering, WTF HE was doing!
