Hi,

I just ordered my F36 which comes with High Beam Assistant (not Adaptive)

I assume just standard high beam assist it just turns off the high beam when another car approaches and doesn't do the cool light beam curtain thing?

You're right, it just turns high beam on and off depending on the surrounding traffic and ambient lighting.

It won't activate in well lit areas, even if there is no oncoming traffic.

Its a "learning" system, it takes a while before the correct switching is working correct. At wet streets when the blending effect is coming additionally on top, then the automatic has some weak spots before switching. But this is just my experience.

Yes, I have just high beam assist and it is great, it reacts really quickly and is all you need imo.
