Msport Package but no Blue Calipers?
Hi guys, I took delivery of a 2015 335i. It is used with 10k miles on the clock. It has MSport and I was under the impression that it should have the blue "M" calipers. However mine just have silver calipers that say "BMW" on them. Am I missing a track package, or did somebody steal them from the car during a brake change and rip off the original owner (or the owner took them off before selling to make a quick buck). Thank you! My last 7 of the vin is KW74571

No the north american m-sport brake upgrade was not included in the m-sport package. It was a separate addition you had to specify on order. The blue brakes have 4-piston front calipers while the silver brakes are 2-piston.

As others have posted it's a $695 option but to retrofit its $2300+ labor.
Plenty of other options to upgrade your brakes for less money. IMHO unless you plan to autocross or drive a lot of steep mountain roads the standard brakes are excellent and you will find that it stops better than almost everything else on the road.

The look nice but the brake dust will keep the rims dirty and they are a bit loud. I won't be getting them on my next GC. IMO

In the UK M Sport is a trim level but does not come with the blue brakes. You have to order the M Sport + pack

I have a 15 335i with the M Sport package. I only have the silver also. I think M Sport refers to the trim level. Not necessarily anything mechanical.

I've just taken delivery on mine, blue calipers all round but you have to buy the M Sport plus package. You must have an equivalent of this in your region? |

Yeah I heard it's only available on custom orders and on track pack. I have a 340i xDrive M sport and have the silver brakes. To me, the stopping power sucks on it. My previous car was a Infiniti Q50S with the Akebono big brakes 4 piston front and 2 piston rear (like the M Performance brakes) and it stops a lot better than what I have now.
I'm having BMW installing the M Performance Big Brake system in two weeks. Plus heard about the pads that comes with it and it sucks. So I'm pairing it with Hawk Performance 5.0 pads. |

In the US the blue m-sport brakes were a standalone option prior to LCI, that is pre-2016 models. A steal at around $600, IIRC.
Post-LCI they're only available as part of the track handling package. They're a more significant upgrade for the 4-banger than the I6. On the I6 they give you marginally larger rotors up front. In the rear you get bigger rotors and better calipers. Post-LCI, I believe the I6 (340i) got upgraded standard brakes making the m-sport brakes less of an upgrade. M-sport calipers and rotor size are identical to the more expensive m-perf brakes; m-perf rotors are dimpled and vented and are interchangeable with the m-sport rotors (but much more expensive). If you only care about the appearance, buy some brake caliper paint and spray those puppies yourself. If you want better stopping power on the cheap, try aftermarket pads. |

What others said exactly - M-Sport and M-Sport Brakes are two separate packages. The brake dust, though, I'm afraid that is not exclusive to the M-Sport Brakes...This occurs on all of them even with the silver calipers. It's a real pain, but it's part of getting to own one of these great cars

M Performance
I am in Australia and from the VIN I see the Type code is 8B36. When I search REALOEM.com using this type code, I see "M Performance" against replacement calipers in various colours (Red; Yellow; Orange) for my car. (no mention of Blue). My OEM calipers are 'natural' (silver), and the vehicle definitely has M Performance calipers and the dustiest pads imaginable. Go figure!
I only hope that one day Akebono make replacement ceramic pads for my car. I had them on my last BMW (E82), and just loved the performance and cleanliness.

So far they only make the rear pads for the single piston calipers I finally installed them on my 09 E92 after the Maintenance plan ran out & was very happy with virtually no brake dust, & stopping was more linear than OEM pads Now I'm in a new F32 & back to the dirtiest friggen pads in the history of autos Just ordered new CoolCarbon pads to see how they perform, supposed to be very low dust also. Shame you have to change out new brake pads with 3k miles on them, but your only recourse is cleaning totally black wheels every (2) days - I'm not doing that any more at my age
