Odd BMW Assist behavior with i-drive

So I went through and registered with BMW Assist and did the courtesy call by using the SOS button. All well.

Then for kicks, I noticed I could call BMW Customer relations and BMW Roadside Assistance via the i-drive

Communications > BMW Assist > BMW Customer Relations > Start service
and
Communications > BMW Assist > BMW Roadside Assistance > Start service

The problem is, when I attempt to make the calls, the screen says operator on-line ... but all I hear is static. The receptions seems fine according to the display.

Has anyone else ran into this, or tried these functions with i-drive?

Its ok ... tried it a few more times and it started working fine. So no idea what the original problem was ...

that sounds weird. never had that problem, but glad it fixed itself.
