RARE non-usa Z4/X3 navigation head units

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I have two bmw radios for the z4 and x3. Both are navigation head units. One has a small navigation lcd screen and the other is a minidisc player.

They are both brand new and have never been installed, but have not been tested. There is a small dent in the metal case of the lower one. It looks like these would be a direct swap, but determining compatibility is the responsibility of the buyer.

$175.00 each

Anyone knows what it'll take to make these work? I have the business cd stereo in my Z4. I would like to upgrade to Navi if possible.

The connector on the back of both units is the same as the USA navi and Business CD head units. The minidisc player is a direct swap for the USA HU I believe, so you would have to get the dash screen, DVD player, etc. as if it was a regular navigation retrofit.

The other one is more obscure. It has the same connector, but I think it uses its small screen for directional display. I'm not sure what it needs to function, but I assume it's less because you don't need to change the dash. I am open to offers on either.

These are new, and have not been used in any car. Also, they were purchased in the USA near the Spartanburg factory. I must say, I am a bit offended.

I have bought a head unit like the one with the small screen to retrofit nav. I haven't recieved the harness and nuts and bolts yet (expecting delivery on Thursday) but I plugged in the head unit to see if it works and it does. The radio and aux worked fine. I am going to start and hopefully finish the retrofit this weekend and will let you guys know if it's 100% compatible. I have not played even one cd in my car in 3 years so to me a small screen is more useful than a CD player.

What the heck is your problem? I know they are obscure. I am just offering them for sale to Z4 people that might have a use for them.

I agree that the MD format is outdated, but what qualifies you to badmouth the items another member is selling and say that they are incompatible with US cars? (because that isn't true)
