Quick Coding/Esys Question

Can you click a button on esys to return the car to factory settings?

If so, do you need to take a backup of the original settings first or does esys do this automatically?

Does that return to factory settings?

Even if no manual backup was taken?

Yes as long as you haven't changed the FA. Basically it reads the FA and sets everything to factory settings for all the options the car has (which it knows as each code, 6WA, 6NS etc. refers to a fitted option).

If you didn't write the FA back to the car it will still have the original factory order in the car. Just read the FA and VO code the ECU's as teaston says. Don't code the DME though, you need a power supply for that to do it safely.

This is a good point! I never write the FA back to the car now, so if the dealers need to update the cars firmware they won't encounter errors!
