JB4 Map question

I'm sure this has been discussed but for a modded car what are you guys using for daily driving? I leave it in 1 and every once in a great while run map 2 which is ton of fun (93oct).

I guess my question is anyone running map 5 for daily driving. I know its adaptive is there anything I need to do to have to become more aggressive when I want to go fast and simmer down while commuting?

How long does it take for the tune to realize what type of driving you're doing? I like map 1 because I know I can stomp on it at anytime and the power will be there but I wanted to see what people's experience is with Map 5.

I thought we weren't supposed to use e85 on a B58 yet

It's not bad but we don't have enough fuel to properly support e85 yet.

On n54tech.com jb4 thread, map 5 isn't listed in Terry's map list, and immediately after says "all other maps are undefined" ?? I guess map 5 is the same as n54 and 55? Just weird that he doesn't include it in his list.

I have been running map 2 ever since I got it, about 2 months ago, but about a week or 2 ago switched to map 1 just to be safe with the mentioned problems occurring.

Yea I thought everything that's not defined in his list are all defaulted to stock map.... So 3,5,6 should be stock maps.

There is no Map5 (auto tuning) on B58 right now.

Map Guide as of v4 firmware below:
Map 0: Disable JB4 all together
Map 1: Suggested performance map
Map 2: More aggressive than map1 for bolt on mods and higher octane fuels or octane booster, currently in BETA testing
Map 3: Less aggressive than map1 intended for use with lower grade fuels or customers looking for less of a performance increase.
Map 4: Stock tuning with CANbus active for logging and diagnostics
Map 7: Water/Methanol Injection map

So if I'm running map 2 with jb4 and downpipes on 93 octane...is that bad because it's still in beta? Or should I just run map 1 most of the time?

No, should be good.. I would suggest you run a datalog and send it in to BMS. Will help development as they get more data samples.

Side note I did an MPG on a very flat section of highway in Indiana today 80mph cruise control all same direction and no cars in front to cause drafting bias.

Map 2 28.1
Map 1 28.9
Map 0 27.6

Map 2 Is more fuel efficient in real world than 0. I thought that was interesting. Of course when I'm normally in map 2 I'm stomping on it so I'm that case it'll be less efficient but highway driving leave that JB4 on 1 or 2!

I'm n55 with Downpipe and 93oct and I run map1 almost exclusively. Map 5 didn't feel as fast / consistant as map 1 to me, and map 1 with dp is pretty damn fast.

Did you give map 5 time to adapt? I'm pretty sure map 1 peak is around 13psi whereas map 5 peak is around 18.
