All Season tyres - what are they really like?

Any of you guys run All Season tyres all year? After another winter where my winters haven't had much of a run out (no snow at all here!) I am wondering if I might be better to swap to All Season tyres. MPSS maybe?

Nothing wrong with my Nokian winters just I do miss my 19" wheels as the 18" look crap.

all seasons

Finding proper all season tyres in run flats for a bmw is a head wrecker.
This goes for all sizes 17/18/19 inch

Vredestein etc make all seasons that carry the proper snow flake symbol so
really work as a winter tyre with decent summer performance.

The only readily available ( in bmw sizes )all season run flats are goodyear eagle ls2 which I've found poor in light snow.

You can sometimes get dunlop 245 40 18 sp sport all season run flats
but they are a pretty old tyres and have rock solid side walls and bulge out
with even light contact.

I currently run my f36 on winter /summer run flats but the swapping back and forth can be a nuisance when most years you don't really need full winters.

There are loads of non run flat options but no spare wheel makes this a bit
of a risk if you get a blow out.

Its good to see BMW offering a spare wheel option in the g30 five series.

To answer your question in a word, "compromised".

They have to be - no one tyre will deliver 'the best' performance year-round because, by definition, the 'best' performance characteristics are very different when it's warm/cold or wet/dry.
