Ive had my new 320d M Sport for 3 days now. I plugged in my Iphone 6s using the standard wire apple give you and it charges, but when I go to select it the USB either says Error or loading and then do nothing.

The music works fine in the AUX, just would rather have it in the USB instead. I dont have a nav or anything.

Was wondering if it was only put in there for charging and never had the functionality to play music? Or have I got a dodgy USB port that I need to sort?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Probably means you don't have enhanced bluetooth so you may need a BMW USB Y cable for your phone to work through it. But that plays the music through AUX anyway.

The bluetooth only works for phone, so I highly doubt I have the enhanced package,

So without that the USB wont work until I buy a Y Cable? in which case I may as well stick with my AUX anyway? Unless there is some better functionality when using the Y cable?

It's weird.

From my understanding. Enhanced BT and USB = connect phone, iPod via USB with regular USB cable. Steering wheel controls e.t.c. but no playlist reading.

Standard BT and USB = power to phone/iPod only through USB. Add a BMW Y cable and you get control and power via USB and music through AUX.

It does seem odd, my mates cheap fiesta, same age as mine has phone and music capability through steering wheel, BT and USB/AUX but yet BMW decided to hold that back.....

Oh well not enough of a sticking point to put me off the car, might put in an aftermarket stereo at some point, seen a few people do it on here
