Looking for allocation
Hi,
I'm looking for an allocation, or for a new LBB 6MT, exec, carplay M2. My local dealers (Cincinnati) have said I'm looking at somewhere between 6-12 mos to get a car. Any leads would be greatly appreciated! There are a few cars on autotrader, cars.com etc..., but I've talked to the dealers and they are sold already. I've set up alerts for new postings, but when i get them it's usually an auto post of a sold car moving through the dealer. Thanks! Neil |

Neil:
Do what I did (and others have done) and just start calling dealers within a specific radius of your location. I'm doing PCD so location didn't matter. I found a dealer 800 miles away w/ an allocation. It takes some time and persistence but it is possible.

and...Car found! It was a dealer i had called previously about a car that was sold. i wound up #3 on his list. The car that was 'sold' and sitting in the showroom had the buyer back out and the 2 guys in front of me wanted automatics. he called me last night with the good news!

Where did you end up calling, and if you don't mind me asking, did you pay MSRP, or get them down at all? I'm up in Cleveland and think I might be looking for an allocation too... There's a local LBB car in a showroom but it is DCT, and someone ordered it with M Driver's Package so it has a built-in $2500 mark-up on top of the transmission. |

The car i found was in Minneapolis, I'll PM you the contact. I was #3 on their list, so the list isn't that long.
I passed on a 6MT car that had the M driver's package a couple of weeks ago, i couldnt bring myself to drop the $2500 for getting it sooner. I paid msrp less $2000 discount through USAA. i think you'd have a hard time getting a dealer to come off MSRP since everyone has a wait list, but i could be wrong. If the contact i give you can't help, do what i (and others have done) did and just start calling dealerships. set up alerts on cars.com, autotrader.com to get notices about new cars and put some leg work in. don't settle for a DCT if you want a manual, you'll kick yourself in 12 months! good luck!
