£1k down, £440 a month, for a 430d - Good Deal?

Guys

Had a test drive of a 430D Auto today and in the 1st round of negotiations I managed to secure the following offer:

£1k cash down
£440 a month
£15.5 GFV based on 10k miles PA

This was on a stock car, in Blue with M-Sport plus but nothing else.

Is this a good deal? I think it equates to around a £5k dealer contribution and £3k from BMW.

Thoughts?

Seen 440i Msport for, £430 down £430 a month.....although not sure if you prefer the diesel or not.

I went for the 430GC XDrive MSport Plus, myself as I live in Scotland and the weather is shit in the winter. Initially got a HK system included FOC, before changing to MSport Plus got a good deal in the end.

Not sure what 8k equates to % wise but i would be aiming for 20% discount off list. Doesnt sound bad on the face of it but do you want the base spec only?

Looking at here. .....

http://www.broker4cars.co.uk/Buy/New...ional+Media%5D

based on the example shown on that web page:

Deposit £3223.73
Monthly £428.2
48 months PCP at 10K pa
GFV £12,750.00

but that is for a non optioned car, I'd say you've got a good deal there.

Trouble is, you're missing out on the opportunity to add a few more options. But if cost is your primary concern, then I think it could be a good deal.

Why not look at a 435d? the support from BMW is better and on a 2.9% PCP deal, there will be little difference in the monthly payments

Don't forget the LCi is just a couple of months away. There is going to be good deals to shift stock pre LCi models

There isn't a huge amount of 6cyl stock out there at the moment, hence my post above to open up options but a good point.

To be honest I'm not sure if spec much beyond the Msport plus pack. Sure there's lots of nice options but where do you stop?

Blue wouldn't have been my choice so that's why I walked, other cars in their system were heavily spec'd with options or with a leather colour I didn't want.

I'd consider both petrol and/or 435d variants, just thought the 430d to be a good balance between performance and running costs

sounds there or there about TBH, not bad for an initial offer and I don't think your getting ripped off really there. But definitely get quotes from the usual places and push as hard as you can. Be aware, when i was getting quotes, the 335d and 330d came out the same monthlies with the 340i £25 / month cheaper. All lovely cars and it depends on what floats your boat.
