AW M2 Available Locally!
I was at BMW over in Roswell, GA yesterday evening getting new tires on the wife's X3 and I saw them pull this bad boy in. My sales guy Dennis walked over and tried to convince me to buy it instead of waiting for the 2018. Its a beautiful car, but I want to wait and see what next year's model will bring. I know some people are having a difficult time locating an M2 reasonably priced, these guys will not sell anything above MSRP. That's one of the many reasons I keep going back... Hopefully someone here on the board snags it up! It's almost been on their showroom floor for 24 hours. I'm hoping this means demand is slowly dying down to allow more negotiation like we can do on M3\M4...

Looks nice, but it has MPerformance stuff on it (rear winglets, spoiler, grills and gills, from what I can see from these pics--and apparently DCT inside) and that means the "MSRP" is going to be higher than you might think. Dealer margin on those MPerformance bits is comparatively fat if they charge MSRP for them, so dealer cars tend to be pretty spendy as far as M2s go, even at MSRP.

Anybody know if you can get a dealer to remove these prior to pick-up and reduce the price back to sane levels? |

I have seen several cars at MSRP from dealers who never go over MSRP loaded up with M performance stuff to run up the price and give them more margins. There are still plenty of dealers who will give them to you at MSRP and not put that stuff on unless you want it. I suspect that some of the MSRP only dealers go wild on trying to sell protection plans and warranties so when we talk about buying at MSRP that really means buying at real MSRP which still can be done.

I would not buy a car that has $10k of M performance parts on it even if it is MSRP.
MSRP to me is $53k ish. Best to just order the car how want it if possible to avoid this kind of strategy.

I tend to agree, I think it'll sit for a while with all of the cosmetic accessories. All the M2 they've had in w/o all the cosmetic fluff have been sold in hours. It's still there today...
