How would you spend $500 in accessories?

Through a long, unfortunate sequence of events at my dealership I was offered a $500 credit toward accessories on my M2 (still awaiting delivery). Naturally, I've been combing through the accessories website trying to find the most optimal use of the credit. I'm looking for best bang for the buck, so am willing to pay the difference out of pocket for a really nice piece. My top 2 choices so far:
  1. Put $500 toward M Performance steering wheel (pay the difference)
  2. Black kidney grilles + M Performance floor mats
How would you guys spend it?

Apply it towards service if you can Otherwise get the wheel, since that is something you will interact with the most (and you want)

I'm actually not a fan of the pedals mainly because I feel like they would be really slippery with wet shoes. Is that not the case?

Don't waste free money on trinkets. The grills and pedals are cheap - you can buy those anytime - put it towards a big ticket item you otherwise would not have purchased. And make sure the dealer fits the parts you buy free of charge.

Steering wheel, MPE or suspension.

That was my thinking. I would never spend that much on something like a steering wheel, but with essentially a $500 discount I'm interested.

I'd ask for cash instead. I had a similar offer from my dealer for an issue and I pushed for cash and they gave it to me.

Scratch that. Sounds like MPE orders are being held for a redesign. Steering wheel all the way.

The gaps in the pedals have rubber that protrude out for grip so not slippery at all.

First of all, isn't the alcantara wheel made for use with racing gloves? If you use it with your bare hands, won't the steering wheel become icky after a while? Full of sweat and dirt? Oh, and if you pick your nose while driving we know where it will go...

Pedals? What's the point?

Only thing I care about is the black kidney grills. It makes the car even angrier.

Ah I see. I couldn't tell from pictures because it looked like the black parts were empty slots. I had similar pedals in my first car that also had grips, but if my shoes were wet and I hit the side of the brake pedal my foot would slip right into the accelerator. Had a couple of really close calls.

Luckily, my hands only really sweat when I'm on the track and I have gloves for that I read it's really a matter of maintenance. If you wipe the alcantara down with a damp cloth every so often it should hold up. I barely allow water bottles in my car, much less scavenging for bodily gunk.

Not at all!!!

As a matter of fact, the complete opposite. The standard rubber pedals slip A LOT, especially with snow on your shoes.

I have the M Perf ones, and no issues with grip even if I have a nice layer of snow on my shoes.

I have to admit, I am very impressed with the grip.

Now there's a testimonial! Y'all are making me rethink the pedals. I've always liked the look but the slipping held me back.

they should've been standard. I will never understand how any M car does not have the stainless pedals. my civic SI and my golf R had them standard. go with them. they really make the inside look better also!

The interior is so dark that the additional brightness of the stainless steel should help with some contrast. I'm having them installed at the VPC.

Seconded on recommending the black grill and stainless pedals. As others have said, the grip on the pedals is actually better than stock (or at least the stock pedals my 135 had). We had a bunch of rain here last week and I never had a problem with my foot slipping after I started driving.

The Carbon Fiber mirror caps look cool as well. (Have not done that myself yet, but thinking about it).

So the grills (front and side) are relatively easy to do yourself after purchase. Same obviously with the mats. While ordering the car I'd do pedals and steering wheel to avoid the hassle of a self-installation.
