HAHAHA if I wouldn't have sold my TDI last year I probably wouldn't have been far off from this, might have left the doors but that's just me feeling nice... The language in the lawsuit states that it just needs to get to the buyback location under its own power..

Not even that specific....just has to 'move' under its own power. It can be towed to the dealer, as long as it meets the criteria:

My buyback is the 28th, and if I could find someone with four steelies, I'd swap them. Still trying to sell parts out of my Jetta. Also, I absolutely LOVE your signature.

Despite the situation all VW TDI owners have been given what seems like lucrative buy-back offers. So why be an a$$ about it?

Come on karma!

I gave away my spare to a TDI forum member, tried to give away other goodies, but timing and distance prevented it.

The euthanasia date for my TDi is tomorrow at 5:30.

VW will eventually have to strip these cars before crushing them anyway....so, he is actually SAVING VW money by doing work for them....for free

I agree, there's a huge battle going on TDI club over this as well, VW is junking all of these cars they buyback because a fix is not reasonable. They will get put in a lot, stripped of a few things and then crushed.

EPA won't allow them to be resold - that's my understanding from the settlement agreement.

335d, I sold my TDI last year, I didn't do the buy back I just got eligible sellers restitution. Kinda makes me sick knowing my dropped, GLI swapped, stage 2+ Jetta is going to be going to a crusher somewhere. The guy who bought it from me didn't understand half of what had been done to the car

There would be way to much backlash if they took those "smog spewing" TDI's and just tossed them across the border and called it good.

Unless that "operable condition" statement has a clause that states that the car has to be safe to drive, then he is screwed.
