Fitting a m3 LSD into 330d auto diff?

Is it possible to fit a BMW E90 M3 210mm viscolok Limited slip diff into a 330d auto 2.81 diff? Looking to rebuild my old diff and wondered if this is possible?

Thanks

I was told 210 internals can't go in a 215 case. Go ask Dan at diffsonline.com

I dont think it works. You need to swap a lot more. Just get a wavetrac or mfactory.

If you're talking about swapping the whole final drive, I've read that it will bolt up to our sub frame. You would need the M3 back part of drive shaft, and the 2 M3 half shafts. The drive shaft would be married to the front portion your drive shaft. The M3/335d shaft combo would need to be shortened on the back end.

None if the above would address getting the taller 2.81 ratio. You can get that too but it will be costly as you would be buying a different ring and pinion. Go checkout diffsonline.com

Your likely to spend less by taking fundguy's advice

In the middle of Wavetrac conversion as we speak. Can't give you first hand answer yet.

You just missed a black Friday sale that Mfactory had going the week of Thanksgiving. I went with a vendor that has been doing these conversions for about 6 years. Nothing against Mfactory as a couple here in the M57 section used this route.

There is a guy here amongst us that is also a Wavetrac dealer. PM me and I will point you to him.

Oops, I see you are on other side of Atlantic. The guy I speak of is in Michigan. You probably want to work with someone there in country. There is a guy (Techevo) that wrote a spectacular thread on doing this conversion HIMSELF. If I were you, I'd be all over getting him to do it.

Here is that thread:
