Thoughts on tune for a lease

Was wondering what you guys thought about the various tunes for a lease. At this time from what I can see it looks like the options would be jb4, Dinan (Jan), and Active-8.

Was originally thinking MPPK, but when comparing costs and "simplicity" at lease return, I think I'd rather just plug and play, if I can get away with it.

Jb4 looks to be the more inclusive tune which I probably won't need as I don't plan on adding any boltons.

I'm currently stuck on the same issue. I've spoken to a bunch of places that do such modifications in my area and they all lean toward the JB4. For the money, I've heard the JB4 is the best option but I believe you must do other mods to your car for best output. I am currently leaning towards the Dinan system that is releasing in Jan for a small and simple upgrade. I hope this helped a little because I am also seeking information.

The JB4 is the most inclusive B58 tune but also the least expensive. It also can clear tell-tale hidden tuner fault codes automatically which I believe it is the only tune currently on market with this feature. Important for leased applications.

No modifications are needed for the JB4. Just install, it's preset on map1, and enjoy. You can even turn it off in dash if you want. For the B58 installation is really easy too. Two connections under hood, one plug in the OBDII port that feeds out an existing hole in the firewall, takes maybe 20 min total to install the first time. After that 5 min.

It's a lease. You know what you must do. Boost to max! Good luck!

Jb4 will be the most complete tune ... Active 8 is easier to install
Both have pros and cons and at the end of the day, you cannot go wrong with either one

Please keep in mind, at this time Active 8 has maps for 93 octane only.

Has anyone figured out a good way to route the wire on a 6MT? It seems like that hole doesn't exist on the 6MT and you need to drill a hole.

Lots of cursing and a coat hanger/duct tape.

What hole does it have to pass through if the normal one is occupied?

It's the same hole but there's other wires and crap in the hole. I ended up accidently tearing the plug off and had to splice the OBD connector back on.

Coat hanger usually does the trick in all sorts of car wiring applications LOL Should be a tool included in the BMW tool kit.
