Since the car doesn't actually exist officially yet you will find that many dealers don't want to take a deposit or create a list yet. As many of us have learned painfully having a spot on a list and having an allocation are two very different things. My suggestion would be to call the high volume dealers that sell a lot of M cars, I doubt you will find many if any that will commit to MSRP in writing prior to knowing the volume and demand, as we have seen with the regular M2 many dealers demanded premiums over MSRP for the initial cars, my guess is this car will be much lower volume which increases the chances that dealers will look to maximize profits on the cars they get.

Just try calling dealerships and check if they sold their M4 GTS at MSRP. If they did not, they will not sell their CS/CSL at MSRP either. Only put your money down at a dealership where:
1, They are willing to give you in writing that you will get car at MSRP,
2, Your number on the list is 1 or 2.

I got my name on the list in March and was already number 2.

Yes, I forgot about that. But I believe it's any time before the car starts getting built per your specification.

Typically yes. But for stuff like this as long as you don't spec anything completely retarded like pink w red leather they should have zero problem selling the car. Hell if you get at msrp in writing they'd love to sell it to someone else at markup.

I've ordered cars and not taken them for whatever reason it's never been a problem. That said it's one of those things where having a good relationship w dealer helps.

haha I know. I've called around and got on the list for some. Seems like most dealerships aren't willing to commit to MSRP. I thought it wouldn't hurt to reach out to the community just the off chance someone sees.

Call Mark Trimbell over @ East Bay BMW and tell him Fabio referred you. They have a waitlist for both the CS and the GTS/CSL (requires deposit). Company policy prevents them from selling any car over MSRP. You're welcome

Just ask your dealership if they have a waiting list for the M2 CS. Mine did not have one yet but said they would create one and I would be the first one on it. I put down a $500 refundable deposit and the first allocation they get will be mine.
