Shop to do a manual swap?

Looking at my options, I think my AT is going out, can anyone recommend some shops for me to check out to get a manual swap done on my E91?

You're going to have to find a shop that really knows what they're doing since there is coding involved.

Trinity Motorsport(or autosport I don't remember)in Anaheim. Handled an s65 transplant into my friends m3 when his motor blew. The car drove better than it ever had ever since the swap.

most shops do not want to touch things like this. The ones that do will make you pay out the nose. Either do it yourself or buy the right car imo.

I'm being dead serious.

A hack shop will take it and never finish it or fuck it up.

A normal shop will refuse it because it's a huge liability and pita.

A Custom/Speed shop will do it but you will pay out the nose at the rate of $150+ and hour. This is while they charge you to figure out how to code it. As I doubt many shops have experience with manual swapping these.

Again, I recommend just turning your own wrenches for a weekend. Are you going to upgrade the manual transmission while you are doing the swap?

Isn't VTT near? see if they will do it for you?

If I had a coupe or a sedan I would agree with you about just buying the right car, but finding a low mileage RWD MT wagon with all of the options I currently have is not going to be cheaper then paying to swap the transmission. Besides the cost factor, a wagon like that is a unicorn, they're not nearly as common as coupes or sedans. I know some people have had swaps done in the Southern California area. LTMW and EAS are capable of doing it, but I'm trying to research other options if possible.

And there's nothing I'd love more than a place to wrench on my cars. I have a 1940 dodge waiting to be overhauled right now, but I dont have anyplace to do something like that at the moment.

Best of luck. The wagons are rare. I just hate to think of the cost a shop is going to charge!

Any reason you want a manual swap over just swapping in a auto trans or maybe even dct. Wagon is a 335 or 328?

It's a 328, (well, it's basically a 330 now.) . I like the idea of pushing the N52 to the limits. If I ever do a motor swap down the road though, it will probably be an S65.
